SA-URG<\/strong> has launched the awareness campaign \u201cEvery accident counts. Recording today allows us to prevent tomorrow.\u201d<\/strong>, a pilot initiative in Aragon that seeks to encourage the voluntary reporting of incidents in natural environments with the goal of improving risk prevention and optimizing healthcare response in mountainous areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proposal invites everyone involved in an accident\u2014whether victims, companions, witnesses, or professionals who intervened\u2014to register what happened through a simple online form. This system will allow for the collection of key information about the circumstances of the incidents and generate greater understanding about how, where, and why they occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More mountain activity, more need for data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, outdoor activities have experienced significant growth, especially in mountainous areas like the Pyrenees. This increase in users has been accompanied by a rise in rescue service interventions, with hundreds of operations each season related to falls, getting lost, injuries, or risky situations while hiking, mountaineering, or canyoning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, a large portion of incidents\u2014especially those of lesser severity that do not require healthcare or rescue\u2014are not recorded in any system. This lack of data hampers the actual analysis of risks and limits the ability to develop effective prevention strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, each record, however small it may seem, provides valuable information<\/strong> that allows for the identification of patterns, improvement of action protocols, and reinforcement of security in natural environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The form can be completed in a few minutes via a online form<\/a>, making it easy for anyone involved in an incident to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign starts from a simple idea: even the mildest incidents can contribute to saving lives in the future. Situations such as falls without serious injuries, minor getting lost, or light bumps often go unnoticed in official records, but they contain key information for better understanding the risks associated with practicing mountain activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
