SA-URG holds its second immersive training at the SENS center of the CHU of Toulouse to prepare the future Pyrenean cross-border mobile emergency team.
The European SA-URG project has organized, at the end of 2025, its second immersive training session at the SENS center of the CHU of Toulouse, reinforcing the joint training program aimed at the creation of the future Pyrenean cross-border mobile emergency team.
This new training was attended by professionals from the Côte Basque Hospital Center, the Emergency Medical System (SEM), the Aragonese Health Service (SALUD), as well as the SAMU 31 and SAMU 65 teams, consolidating the operational cooperation between partners on both sides of the Pyrenees.
The main objective of this second session was to continue training the professionals and teams identified within the SA-URG alliance, in order to progressively integrate them into the trans-Pyrenean mobile device.
This team is designed to intervene quickly, in a coordinated and effective manner in emergency situations, catastrophes and events with multiple victims, guaranteeing a joint and harmonized health response.
Immersive training in close-to-reality conditions
The SENS center at the CHU de Toulouse offers an advanced simulation environment that allows complex scenarios to be recreated using immersive technologies: extreme weather effects, smoke, vibrations, three-dimensional scenarios and high operating pressure situations.
Thanks to this environment, participants were able to train in conditions very close to reality, improve their technical skills and strengthen interoperability between health services in different territories.
Beyond the technical component, this training has further strengthened teamwork among professionals from different countries, cultures and organizational structures. The shared experience favors the harmonization of procedures and the construction of a common response focused on victim care.
Co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A POCTEFA 2021-2027 program, the SA-URG project aims to promote a cross-border approach to emergency care, improving the quality of care and the capacity to respond to critical situations in the Pyrenean territory.
With this second training, SA-URG continues to advance in the construction of a solid, prepared and operational cross-border health network at the service of the population.
