The SA-URG project
The Pyrenean border area faces several common challenges in terms of accessibility: dispersion of medical teams, presence of small medical centers and remoteness of hospitals. On the other hand, the influx of tourists, as well as the practice of sports in the mountainous area, are as many risk situations that health and rescue teams must face on a daily basis.
The SA-URG project seeks to improve health care in emergencies and disasters through cooperation between border regions and capacity building for emergency management and health care in the cross-border territory.
The SA-URG project is a continuation of the EGALURG project to address the problems of accessibility to health services in the Pyrenean cross-border area. It also proposes the creation of a cross-border mobile health team and a training program for health personnel in the border territories as well as the development of digital tools to support interventions in emergency situations.
