Within the SA-URG project, associate partners have also participated in immersive training sessions organized at the SENS center of the CHU of Toulouse, thus consolidating the collaborative and cross-border approach that characterizes this initiative.
Following the initial training sessions of the project, this new session with the associated partners confirms the common interest in strengthening the preparedness of emergency teams through realistic simulations and the exchange of experiences between territories.
SAMU 65 professionals (Occitanie) point out that “The experience at the SENS in Toulouse hospital is a complete immersion in the world of simulation, allowing you to put yourself in a situation under extreme and real conditions.”. This type of training facilitates preparation closer to real operational scenarios.
From Osakidetza (Basque Country), participants emphasize the importance of the collaborative component: “These training sessions are important because they allow us to establish relationships, observe the work methods of different departments, and improve the way we communicate.”. They also particularly value the quality of SENS's facilities, designed to reproduce complex environments through simulations of wind, helicopter noise, and realistic scenarios.
For their part, from Andorra they highlight the strategic value of these meetings: “As neighbors, it's essential to organize these types of training sessions. They are an excellent opportunity to learn from each other, discover useful practices, and apply them later in our own work.”. The participation of associate partners reinforces SA・URG's main objective: to improve the coordination and effectiveness of cross-border emergency interventions, by investing in joint training and shared learning.
