The partners of SA-URG are advancing in their joint formation to improve coordination and response to emergencies on both sides of the Pyrenees.
On September 16 and 17, the Hospital of Barbastro hosted a new training action of the SA-URG European project, focused on the exchange of knowledge and good practices in emergency and urgent healthcare. The training was organized by Salud Aragón and delivered by 061 and brought together professionals from both sides of the Pyrenees involved in the field of emergencies, emergencies and mountain rescue.
In total, 37 professionals participated, including representatives from CHU Toulouse (2 participants), CHCB Bayona (2 participants), SEM Catalunya (3 participants), the subdirectorate of Emergency Medicine of Navarra through Navarrabiomed (5 participants), and healthcare staff from 061 Aragón, who made up the rest of the attendees.
During the two days, key aspects of coordination and response to emergency situations were discussed. The program included sessions dedicated to the health management of incidents involving multiple victims and disasters, the health response to the Astún ski lift accident as a case study, and the management of patient demand in the Emergency Coordination Center (CCU) of 061 Aragón.
The training also allowed for a deeper understanding of the planning of preventive services for special events, as well as the Aragonese model of mountain rescue, considered a benchmark for its coordination between healthcare services and specialized rescue teams. Furthermore, experiences related to teaching and clinical simulation applied to mountain rescue were presented.
These days are part of the cooperation activities promoted by the SA-URG project, whose objective is to strengthen cross-border collaboration, promote the exchange of experiences between professionals and contribute to the continuous improvement of healthcare in emergency and emergency situations in the POCTEFA space.
